Ian Jamison is a composer based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since 2018 he has written as half of Klein & Jamison, a collaboration with painter and gallerist Jim Klein — a catalog now spanning seventeen works for piano, chamber ensemble, and orchestra, rooted in specific places in the American West.
His music has been released on Centaur Records, performed at Arizona State University, and premiered at Steinway & Sons Scottsdale by artists including Steinway Artist Adam Zukiewicz and the Colorado Piano Trio, and recorded with musicians in Europe and North America.
Alongside the duo's catalog, he maintains a growing body of solo concert works — three piano sonatas, with a fourth under way, a string quartet, and the piano cycle Anthropogenesis. He also scored the short film Long Beach and arranged Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue for eight hands, premiered in New York in 2024.
